Since launching in December, 2018, this blog has been built on a simple but powerful principle: guys need friends who help them become more godly men. Through faith-centered conversations, encouragement, and practical tools, my goal was to help guys experience deeper, more authentic friendships like those who helped me become a better husband, father, and friend after a struggle with workaholism that teetered on depression.
But along the way, I discovered something important: the need for better male friendship exists in most guys.
So I’m excited to announce a new content channel: Get Out of Your Man Cave.
This new channel is designed to reach an even wider audience of men. My goal is to extend those same conversations about the need for better friendships in a way that is accessible to every guy, particularly those outside of any church involvement, faith background, or personal belief system.
Through future articles, videos, discussions, and practical resources, this content will be published on a different website (getoutofyourmancave.com) and a different Facebook page. It may also appear on some new social channels like Instagram, LinkedIn, Substack, and Medium.
But the goal remains the same: to help build stronger, healthier, and more authentic male friendships.
What Happens to God-Buddies?
Aside from using a new type font here to get your attention, this expansion does not replace or diminish the mission of God-Buddies. In fact, it strengthens it!
On this blog, I will continue to write from a Christian perspective to help men who desire to grow in the kind of friendship that pursues God together. The GodBuddy concept is an important part of my story, so my passion remains helping men become more godly men.
So think of Get Out of Your Man Cave as another path into the same journey—the way from isolation to connection, from loneliness to brotherhood. Another way from merely existing to truly belonging. To become the best version of a man.
Why Create Something New?
We also need to reach more guys since the need for male friendship is real.
This is validated every time I talk with other guys. Heads nod. Eyes widen. They speak honestly. Most acknowledge they need better friends. Many say they have no friends. Any friends. And they don’t know how to find them. The need is strong.
All told, the focus remains the same: to help men develop and maintain better male friendships.
Every Guy Needs Friends
Research continues to show that the loneliness epidemic among males extends far beyond the walls of any church. Guys who desperately need friendship may never visit a faith-based website, attend a church, synagogue, or temple, participate in a Bible study, or even engage with Christian content. In fact, an increasing number of people today never grew up with a faith tradition or have checked out of organized religion altogether.
Yet most guys face the same challenges. Many may not have realized it yet. They feel disconnected, carry burdens alone, and retreat into their proverbial “man cave” where they long for deeper relationships and purpose.
Better friends can help them not just survive, but thrive as a mature, responsible man in today’s world.

Introducing My New Book
This new content also coincides with the upcoming release of my second book, The Journey Out of Your Man Cave: A Guide to Deeper, More Authentic Male Friendship. Written specifically for a more secular, non-religious audience, the guide will be available on Amazon and the new website by August 1st.
So join me in helping me continue to reach more men by sharing this exciting news. Most guys need more meaningful friendships. Help them also become more godly men who are learning to follow Jesus Christ, the ultimate role model for men.
Because the world needs mature, responsible men more than ever!
