One Man’s Voice: A New Series about the Issues Men Face

This post begins a new series I am calling “One Man’s Voice…in the Noise.” This will be a different format from my typical posts. I will curate information on male topics from around the web and write a brief post that includes links to the original content in case you want to dive deeper. My goal is to sift through all the noise and B.S. to add some sanity about the issues we men face today.

As I stated in my last post, Concluding My Case for Better Male Friendships, too many males are struggling these days. Research shows boys and young males are failing in education, in the workplace, and in their families. Whether society, the media, or our government wants to admit it, we have a problem. You may even not want to admit it. Men are lonely. They are hurting. They are confused.

But I’m encouraged that the narrative about boys and men is beginning to change, as I also showed in my last post. So I hope to contribute thoughtfully to the cause.

As avid readers of my blog already know, men need friends with high-quality men to become better men. I also believe that every man needs GodBuddies. These are deeper, more authentic friendships with a small group of men who desire to become more godly men. As a father of three now-adult sons, I am pro-marriage and am for the betterment of females. I am also a follower of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who showed us how to live well and love everyone. Equality and unity make everyone better.

So, regardless of whether you believe in God, multiple gods, a higher power, or nothing at all, I welcome your input. Feel free to comment whether you consider yourself religious, spiritual, or secular. It does not matter if you believe that Jesus was a Savior, a prophet, or just another man in history. Please share your thoughts. Even if you are an agnostic or atheist, I’d appreciate your perspective. I simply want to open up the conversations on topics that are confusing about being a man today.

You may not always agree with my positions, so I welcome your comments as long as they are not hurtful, propagate hate, or promote misinformation. Lord knows, there is enough anger and distrust in the world today!

So watch for more in the coming weeks as I unfold these new series about the issues men face today.

Why Men Hide Their Pain: Facts About Male Depression
