Men and Their Emotions: Boredom

As I begin to conclude this series about how a man manages his emotions, I’m realizing that Boredom is possibly the most controllable and manageable. When men are bored, we often get ourselves into trouble, which diverts us from pursuing our primary goal of becoming more like Jesus Christ. As I researched for this post, I was reminded of two truths: one biblical and one from a famous theologian and philosopher.  The first truth comes from the Bible. Men and Their Emotions: Anxiety

Anxiety is often referred to as “the hidden disease”.  Closely associated with the emotions of Sadness and Fear, anxiety is the next in this series about the emotions that prevent us from becoming more godly men.  Anxiety and Men Anxiety can happen to anyone, especially in these times of the COVID-19 pandemic, racial injustice, and economic uncertainty.  In 2017, the World Health Organization estimated that 3.6% of the global population — more than 250 million people suffer from an anxiety disorder. Studies continuously show that women are twice as likely as men to be diagnosed with an anxiety disorder. The data suggests 1 in 3 women and 1 in 5 men will have an anxiety disorder at some point during their lives. Anxiety among children is also rising with 25% of kids between 13 and 18 years old getting treatment of some kind of anxiety or depression.  So while women

Men and Their Emotions: Guilt

In my last post in this series about a man’s emotions, I wrote that pride often comes before a fall (Proverbs 16:18-19). For most of us, the failed actions that come out of our pride, often result in Guilt and Shame, which are among the most painful of human emotions. As with the other emotions outlined in this series (Pridefulness, Happiness, Sadness, Fear, and Anger, our mismanaged emotions can be destructive and cause us to hide.
